Dear Alumni,

As you know, The Sparta Education Foundation continues making grants that enhance the learning environment in the Sparta Public School District.  Most recently, we funded a grant for Vernier LabQuest probeware and Netbook computers.  Our Middle School students are using this equipment to collect measure and data such as pH, wind speed, gas pressure, metal temperature, etc., either in the classroom or the field.  They then transfer that data to the Netbooks to further analyze and deepen their understanding of the various concepts involved.

We would like to continue this momentum with our First Annual Alumni Fundraiser. As you may know, the high school renovation project includes a video production studio scheduled to open this fall.  But right now, it is unclear what equipment will be available then.  That is where the SEF comes in and why we are asking for your help. 

We are trying to raise $10,000 the District can use to buy a digital audio mixer. This equipment will support a wide range of audio production tasks such as allowing students to manipulate the level, timbre, and/or dynamics of either digital or analog audio signals they can use to make high quality recordings, DVDs, or TV productions with surround-sound.

Please help us give our high school students the ability to use this equipment and consider donating by March 31, 2001.  Time is of the essence to allow for BOE approval, ordering, receipt, training, etc. before school opens this fall.
